Indonesia’s Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has met with Bangladesh’s Minister of Industry Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun in Indonesia. In a press release on Wednesday (10 November) the Ministry of Industry said that the two sides agreed to sign the bilateral Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) soon.
The meeting took place on Wednesday morning, just before the start of the second regional conference on industrial development in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
In addition to the PTA, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on Blue Economy, technical skills, and the Halal industry. To this end, the Indonesian Minister of Industry will visit Bangladesh with his Commerce Minister and business representatives in a few days.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman was present at the meeting.
Minister of Industry Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun arrived in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on 9 November to attend the second regional conference.
