China, Asia’s largest economy, has decided to provide duty-free export facilities to 98% of Bangladesh’s products, including leather and leather products. From now on, duty-free facilities will be available for the export of 8 thousand and 930 Bangladeshi products to the Chinese market. As a result, China is offering new duty-free access to 383 more Bangladeshi products.
Letter of Exchange will be issued by Bangladesh and China to implement this additional facility. Meanwhile, the Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Li Jiming has signed the agreement on behalf of the Chinese government, and the Bangladesh Ministry of Commerce is also preparing to sign it.
In 2020, China granted duty-free export facilities to 97% of Bangladesh’s products, effective from 1 July of that year. Under this, 8547 products of Bangladesh have been getting duty-free export facilities.
