A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Dubai International Chamber to increase trade and investment between the UAE and Bangladesh.
The signing ceremony was held at the Leadership Pavilion of Dubai Expo 2020 on Tuesday (8 March) in the presence of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Dubai International Chamber, signed on behalf of their respective organisations.
The FBCCI president said that Dubai and Bangladesh can be each other’s subsidiaries in boosting bilateral trade. There is huge potential for entrepreneurs in Dubai in the port and logistics sectors of Bangladesh.
He said that by investing in Bangladesh, they can increase their exports to other South Asian countries. At the same time, by increasing trade relations with Dubai, Bangladesh can also enter the CIS countries and the African market.
Jashim Uddin hopes that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the FBCCI and the Dubai International Chamber will play a significant role in strengthening this possibility.
