Bangladesh has exported security equipment worth Tk 45 crores to the United States

In the 12 months from January to December 2021, Bangladesh exported medical equipment including PPE, masks, and gloves worth USD 52 lacs 52 thousand and 605 to the United States. In Bangladeshi currency, the amount is Tk 45 crores and 17 lacs. BGMEA has given this information as an annual.

According to BGMEA, US buyers are currently buying medical supplies, including PPE, from 14 factories in Bangladesh. In the last year (2021), Bangladesh has exported 13 lacs 71 thousand and 245 pieces of Personal Protective Equipment-PPE. About 3 lac sets of medical supplies, including PPEs, masks, and gloves, have been shipped to the United States this year.

According to BGMEA, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many entrepreneurs took the initiative to make medical products including PPE, masks, and gloves. Many garments traders converted their factories into PPE plants. Bangladesh is now producing world-class PPE, which is exported to various countries, including the United States.
