In the first 10 months of the fiscal year, the revenue has increased by 15%

In the first 10 months (July-April) of the current 2021-22 fiscal year, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has collected a total of Tk 2 lacs 27 thousand 641 crores and 24 lacs including income tax, local level value-added tax (VAT) and import-export duty.

Which is 15.21% more than the same period of last fiscal year. In the first 10 months of the last fiscal year, the amount of revenue was 1 lac 97 thousand 583 crores and 52 lacs.

In 10 months, the sector-wise revenue is calculated to be Tk 73 thousand 60 crores and 26 lacs from the import and export customs sector, Tk 84 thousand 895 crores and 21 lacs from VAT at the local level, and Tk 69 thousand 685 crores and 77 lacs from income tax and travel tax sector.

However, the revenue is lagging behind the target. The target of revenue in 10 months was Tk 2 lacs 60 thousand 31 crores and 75 lacs.

In the first 10 months of the last 2020-21 tax year, the amount of revenue from import-export duty was Tk 61 thousand 131 crores and 63 lacs. This amount has increased to Tk 73 thousand 60 crores and 26 lacs in the current tax year. In this case, the growth is 19.51%.

Income tax collection has increased by 16.78% during the period under review. In the first 10 months of the last fiscal year, the revenue from this sector was Tk 59 thousand 670 crores and 21 lacs. This time it has increased to Tk 69 thousand 685 crores and 77 lacs.

It has also been possible to achieve high growth in VAT revenue like customs and income tax. In this case, the growth has been 10.57%. In the last 10 months of the last fiscal year, the amount of VAT revenue was Tk 76 thousand 781 crores and 68 lacs. This time it has increased to Tk 84 thousand 895 crores and 21 lacs.

The NBR has set a revenue target of Tk 3 lacs 30 thousand crores for the current fiscal year.
