Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Vikram Doraiswami has expressed hope that trade relations between Bangladesh and India will further expand. He said that the State Bank of India (SBI) was working to boost trade and economic ties between the two countries.
Vikram Doraiswami inaugurated the new building of State Bank of India’s Dhaka branch at Gulshan-2 on Friday (1 July). From now on, SBI’s Dhaka branch will operate at Anabil Tower on Kamal Ataturk Avenue.
Vikram Doraiswami said that SBI is playing an important role in expanding trade and investment between Bangladesh and India. The bank is also doing well in opening bonds for trade between the two countries. SBI has more than 10,000 clients in Bangladesh.
Vikram Doraiswami inaugurated the new building by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. Country Head of SBI Bangladesh Operations Prakash Chanda Sabu was present at the occasion.
