IFC will act as the PCT’s transaction advisor

PPP Authority Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Ibrahim and IFC Acting Country Manager Nuzhat Anwar signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations

The Public Private Partnership (PPP) Authority of the Prime Minister’s Office has signed a ‘Transaction Advisor Service Agreement’ with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the ‘Preparation, Operation and Maintenance of Patenga Container Terminal’ project. PPP Authority Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Ibrahim and IFC Acting Country Manager Nuzhat Anwar signed the agreement on Saturday (20 August) on behalf of their respective organisations.

The Prime Minister’s Chief Secretary and Chairman of the PPP Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, Secretary of Shipping Md. Mustafa Kamal and Chittagong Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan were present at this time.

IFC will discuss with the Red Sea Gateway Terminal the terms of operation and supply of equipment for the Patenga Container Terminal. IFC has been appointed as transaction advisor for this. If the talks are successful then the Chittagong Port Authority will sign an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Gateway Terminal.
