Saudi government will invest in Bangabandhu Industrial City

A delegation of the government of Saudi Arabia expressed interest in investing in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial City at Mirsarai in Chattogram after visiting the area. A 12-member delegation, including Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Logistics Services Engineer Saleh Nasser al-Jasser, arrived in the industrial city by helicopter on 29 November.

After inspecting the proposed 300-acre site for the establishment of Saudi Arabia’s economic zone, the Saudi minister told reporters that Saudi companies were keen to invest in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial City. He expressed satisfaction over the communication system with the economic zone.

Bangladeshi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Javed Patwari said that Saudi Arabia has promised to invest billions of dollars in Bangladesh.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial City is being built on an area of ​​about 30,000 acres in Mirsarai, Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram and Sonagazi upazila of Feni. More than USD 23 billion have already been secured for this project.
