The authorities have announced to reward the user who uses the maximum number of e-files every month to encourage the officers and employees to use e-file (electronic file) instead of the usual documents or files in the official work of Chittagong port. The announcement was made through a notice signed by Director (Administration) Mominur Rashid on 16 October. According to the decision of the meeting of the ethics committee held on September 20 under the chairmanship of Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, the highest e-file users will be given a reward of Tk 5,000 and a certificate every month. The authority has made this decision to increase the use of e-files. It has been in effect since October.
The government is emphasizing on the use of e-files to ensure mobility, transparency and accountability in all departments through the use of information technology. The cabinet division has given all necessary instructions in this regard.
