Bangladesh Navy celebrates the golden jubilee of independence

As part of the celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation and the golden jubilee of independence, the Bangladesh Navy held various programs titled ‘Naval Ensign 10 – Smritite Amlan Bangabandhu’ on Friday (December 10). On this occasion, the President and the Prime Minister conveyed special greetings.

On this day, colourful rallies, voluntary blood donation programs, humanitarian assistance to the needy, and various other programs were celebrated across the country. As part of this, a colourful rally was held on Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka with the participation of officers and sailors from all levels. Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haque along with Principal Staff Officer, directors, naval officers, and sailors of all levels were present on the occasion. Besides, humanitarian assistance was provided to the helpless and distressed people in BNS Khilkhet and a voluntary blood donation program was held at BNS Haji Mohsin Auditorium.

In the morning, guard of honour was presented and wreaths were laid at the graves of Bir Shrestha Shaheed Ruhul Amin and Bir Bikram Shaheed Mahibullah at Khulna. Later, a lively rally was held at Shivbari intersection of Khulna with the participation of naval members from all levels. Placards, banners, and festoons commemorating the naval operation on 10 December 1971, the great war of liberation, and Bangabandhu were displayed. A voluntary blood donation program was organized in BNS Upasham of Khulna and humanitarian assistance was provided to the distressed and helpless people in different areas of Khulna Naval Zone at noon.

A colourful rally was held from BNS Issa Khan parade ground in Chattogram with the participation of naval personnel from all levels. A voluntary blood donation program was organized at BNS Patenga and assistance was provided to the distressed and helpless people in the area adjacent to the hospital gate of Chattogram Naval Zone at noon.
