The export of cabbages is increasing in the foreign market. Now it is being exported to 3 countries. Bogra cabbage is being exported more as it is of good quality and free of toxins.
According to the Bogra Department of Agricultural Extension, last year alone, 600 metric tonnes of cabbage was exported from Shibganj upazila of Bogra. Before the end of this year, 623 metric tonnes of cabbages have been exported from the district, which is higher than the same period last year.
Cabbages from Bangladesh are exported to Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Cabbages from Bogra started to be exported on a small scale since 2014.
This time in Bogra, cabbages had a bumper yield just like cauliflowers. The Department of Agriculture has set a target of producing 23,920 metric tonnes of bound copy on 920 hectares of land. That target has already been exceeded.
