Bangladesh will get trade benefits even after graduating from LDC: EU Ambassador

European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Charles Whitley has assured that Bangladesh will get trade benefits even after being removed from the list of Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The EU Ambassador gave assurance of this during an exchange of views with Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce at the Secretariat on Tuesday (11 January).

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the exchange of views included the next meeting of the EU-Bangladesh Business Climate Dialogue, diversification of Bangladesh’s export products, increase the duration of GSP benefits provided by EU for Bangladesh, foreign investment in Bangladesh’s logistics sector, e-commerce, expansion of trade and commerce. Overall bilateral cooperation was discussed.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Hafizur Rahman and Nur Md. Mahbubul Haque, along with representatives of the European Union were present at the meeting.
