A contractor organisation has been appointed for the construction of infrastructure for building the Ramgarh land port. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said construction work on the infrastructure will begin soon.
He made the remarks at a meeting after inspecting the construction site of ‘Ramgarh Land Port’ at Ramgarh in Khagrachhari district on Monday (14 February). Chairman of Bangladesh Land Port Authority Alamgir Hossain, Chairman of Khagrachhari District Council Monsui Pru Chowdhury, and Project Director of Ramgarh Land Port Construction Project Sarah Alam among others spoke on the occasion.
The State Minister for Shipping said the Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and India have inaugurated the ‘Friendship Bridge’, a dream of the people of the two countries, near Ramgarh land port. The Ramgarh land port will not only strengthen trade and commerce, but also the cultural ties between the two countries.
He said the country has witnessed unprecedented development in the last 13 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The amount of reserves in the country has increased. Under her leadership, Bangladesh has evolved from a poor to a middle-income country; the goal has been set to become a developed country. In the next 13 years, Bangladesh will become the 20-25th economy in the world. For this, everyone has to work in unison.
