Australia is researching investment opportunities in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Ambassador Md. Sufiur Rahman with Australian Trade Minister Dan Tehan

Australia is conducting multiple studies on which sectors have investment opportunities in Bangladesh. Studies are being done on infrastructure, information technology, mining, and other potential sectors so that Australian companies can invest in Bangladesh.

On Thursday (17 February) the Minister of Trade of Australia Dan Tehan discussed this with Md. Sufiur Rahman, Bangladesh’s ambassador to the country, in Canberra. The first meeting of the Commerce Secretary level will be held on February 22 after the TIFA agreement was signed between the two countries on 15 September. Hopefully, this will speed up bilateral trade.

According to a statement from the Foreign Office, the Ambassador met with the Australian Minister of Trade to discuss ways to increase trade and the sectors in which Australians can invest.
