The Prime Minister has proposed allocating land in the economic zone to Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is interested in investing in the renewable energy sector in Bangladesh. In the interest of the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has proposed the allocation of land for the country in the special economic zone. She made the proposal during a courtesy call on Saudi Prime Minister Muhammed Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan at the Parliament building on Wednesday (30 March).

The Prime Minister said, ‘Saudi Arabia’s investment in Bangladesh is welcome. They can choose land for investment in special economic zones.’

After the meeting, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told reporters about this.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister assured Saudi Arabia of enhanced cooperation for hosting Expo-2030. The Ambassador sought Bangladesh’s support for their candidate in this regard.

The Prime Minister emphasised the need for unity among the Muslim countries and for resolving the existing problems between them through dialogue.

‘Do not invite a third party or any country from outside to solve the existing problems among the Muslim countries,’ she said.

During the meeting, the Ambassador said, ‘Bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia will be further strengthened in the future by enhancing multilateral cooperation in tourism, culture, trade, and investment.’

At this time, the Saudi Ambassador handed over a Ghilaf inscribed with verses of the Holy Quran made of gold and silver weighing 10 kg on behalf of the Bagshah of the country.

Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Fr. Ahmed Kaikaus was present during the meeting.
