The government will provide all possible assistance to increase ceramic exports

Ceramic products of Bangladesh should be presented to the world. The government will do what needs to be done for this seriously. The government will provide all kinds of assistance to increase the export of ceramic products. Traders must come forward as well. It is necessary to take steps to increase exports. Minister of Commerce Tipu Munshi said this at a seminar organised by Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association on Saturday (2 April). The seminar was organised at a hotel in Dhaka.

The keynote address at the seminar titled ‘Ceramic industry in the context of LDC graduation of Bangladesh: Possibilities and Challenges’ was presented by CPD Research Director Dr. Khandaker Golam Moazzem.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the Minister of Commerce said there is no alternative to increasing the number of products to increase the country’s exports. Ceramic products of Bangladesh are of high quality and there is a huge demand for these products in the world market. Noting that ceramic products have great potential for Bangladesh, the Minister of Commerce said that the government has given special importance to the export of readymade garments as well as ceramic products, jute products, leather and leather products, ICT products, medical products, plastic products, and light engineering products.

The seminar was chaired by Md. Sirajul Islam Mollah, President of Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association President and former Member of Parliament. Chairman of the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (Secretary) Md. Afzal Hossain, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of the National Skill Development Authority Dulal Krishna Saha, FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin, Export Development Bureau (EPB) Vice Chairman AHM Ahsan, and ICMAB President Md. Mamunur Rashid spoke at the seminar.
