Export earnings grew by 55% in March

Entrepreneurs of the country have exported goods worth USD 476 crores and 22 lacs in March, maintaining the upward trend of export earnings. Compared to the same period last year, the growth was about 55%. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) reported this on Monday (4 April). In addition to the big leap in growth, the earnings have exceeded the target. Last month, goods worth 476 crores and 22 lac dollars were exported against the target of 354 crores and 80 lac dollars. In March last year, the export income was 307 crores and 60 lac dollars.

The readymade garments sector has contributed a lot to this growth in exports. During July-March of the current fiscal year, the entrepreneurs have exported garments worth 3 thousand 142 crores and 84 lac dollars. The growth has been 33.81%. Of these, woven goods were worth 1 thousand 430 crores and 85 lac dollars and knit goods were worth 1 thousand 712 crore dollars.

According to the EPB, the total revenue from exports during July-March of the current fiscal year was 3 thousand 856 crores and 56 lac dollars, which is 33.41% more than the same period last year. In the same period of the last fiscal year, the income was 2 thousand 893 crores and 83 lac dollars.
