There is no need to be a member of any association to receive cash assistance in exchange for software and information technology (ITS) exports. If the service is exported, a cash incentive will be provided.
Bangladesh Bank has clarified the matter in a recent notification. It said that all members and non-members of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and the Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) will receive cash incentives in exchange for exporting ITS services under the existing system.
Earlier, Bangladesh Bank made it easy to get cash incentives for exporting software and IT services (ITS) worth up to five thousand dollars. As a result, import-related references are not required to receive cash assistance as per the TeleTransfer (TT) message.
However, the central bank has added some conditions. The conditions are that the Department of Information and Communication Technology must have proper documentation to conduct export activities through a recognised international marketplace. In case of an electronic agreement with the marketplace, the exporter will provide the relevant web link to the bank branch. At the same time, the bank branch has to collect and verify the information about the software and ITS export activities, along with the web link through the international marketplace.
