In nine months, Chittagong Customs House has collected revenue of Tk 42,730 crores

From July to March of the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Chittagong Custom House has collected revenue of Tk 42,730.82 crores. The amount of revenue collection has been continuously increasing in the last months of the fiscal year. At the end of the fiscal year, the amount of revenue collection will be around Tk 60,000 crores. The amount collected in the last fiscal year was 51,576.96 crores. The customs house reported this information.

Due to the increase in the volume of import trade and the gradual normalisation of the global supply chain, the amount of revenue collection has been steadily increasing as compared to the last fiscal year.

Chittagong Customs House charges duty on goods imported through Chittagong port. Apart from this, gold and other goods imported through Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport are also cleared through this customs house.

In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the revenue collection target was Tk 48,190 crores. Against this target, Tk 42,730.82 crores have been collected.

In the last 2020-21 fiscal year, the revenue collection target for 9 months was Tk 46,952.9 crores. Tk 35,031.65 crores were collected. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, Tk 7,699.17 crores more have been collected as compared to the same period of last fiscal year. The revenue collection target for the current fiscal year is Tk 64,075 crores.
