To get a subsidy or incentive for exporting agricultural and processed agricultural products, a certificate has to be submitted to the customs authority. This information was given in a directive signed by Kazi Rafiqul Hasan, General Manager, Foreign Monetary Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank on Monday (18 April).
The central bank’s directive to all authorized dealers of foreign exchange transactions in the country states that for getting incentives for the export of agricultural products (vegetables and fruits) and processed (agro-processing) products, they should be verified with the concerned customs authority before exporting (physical verification), and the certificate should be submitted along with the application form. The matter will be confirmed with the concerned bank. The directive also states that other guidelines related to incentives for the export of agricultural products and processed agricultural products will remain unchanged.
