New ‘Import Policy Order’ issued for three years

The government has issued an ‘Import Policy Order’ for the next three years. By the order of the President, the Ministry of Commerce has published a gazette regarding this order. The gazette, signed by Commerce Ministry Deputy Secretary Mirajul Islam Ukil on Monday (April 25th), said the ‘policy order’ was issued for three years from 2021-to 2024, with immediate effect.

The policy order will remain in force till 30 June 2024.

Import policy orders are issued by the Ministry of Commerce every three years. Although there was a provision to issue a new import policy order for three years after 30 June 2021, the Ministry of Commerce could not formulate it due to COVID-19. The country’s import trade will be conducted as per the new import policy order issued.
