Retail chain shop ‘Shwapno’ is exporting vegetables and fruits outside the country. The first export consignment of Shwapno was sent last March. In the first consignment, the company exported 26 types of vegetables and fruits including ‘potol’, ‘dherosh’, raw mango, potato, and bitter gourd to Hong Kong. The second consignment of exports was sent last Sunday (15 May). Among them is Shawpno’s Global Gap Certified gourd.
Saiful Alam, the advisor and team leader of Shwapno’s export initiative, said that Shwapno started exporting on 31 March. Exports to the Hong Kong market last Sunday include Shwapno’s Global Gap Certified gourds. Additionally, 100 kg of mangoes from Satkhira were also sent. Solidaridad Network Asia has collaborated with the export of mangoes. Shwapno is the first and only member of the Global Gap in the retail category of Southeast Asia. USAID has provided special assistance in Shwapno’s Global Gap initiative. From now on, Shwapno will be able to export seven types of products to several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
