‘MV AMO’ is the first ship to leave Chattogram for UK

MV AMO

The first ship ‘MV AMO’ left Chittagong port for the United Kingdom with an export container. The ship left Chittagong port for Liverpool port with 182 TEUs containers at noon on Friday (20 May). It is expected to reach Liverpool in 22 days.

Alsace Global Logistics Limited, a UK freight forwarding company, has launched the direct ship service from Chattogram to the UK.

‘MV AMO’ arrived at Chittagong port on Wednesday (18 May) with 562 empty containers. The ship has unloaded the empty containers and left the port with the containers filled with goods. Most of these containers contain readymade garments and some containers contain jute products.

Direct travel to the UK will result in less time than before and will also save exporters money. At present, it takes about 35 to 40 days for goods to pass through the ports of Sri Lanka and Singapore.

After the first direct shipping service in Italy, a European country, direct cargo operations with the United Kingdom began.

Direct shipping of goods with Italy started on 7 February. Reef Line, an Italian freight forwarder, has launched the service.
