Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) received investment proposals of more than Tk 24 thousand and 821 crores in the three months from April to June of this year. The investment proposals in the same quarter last year were of Tk 14 thousand and 128 crores. According to that, the amount of investment proposals increased by Tk 10 thousand and 693 crores or 76.69% in the April-June quarter of this year compared to the same period of the previous year.
Along with investment proposals, the number of industrial establishments registered in BIDA has also increased. 264 companies have registered to invest in BIDA from April-June this year. It was 184 at the same time last year.
228 local industries registered during April-June this year, whose proposed investment is of Tk 18 thousand and 371 crores. Investment proposals in this sector have increased by about 39% compared to the same period last year.
19 entirely foreign and 17 joint investment companies have made investment proposals of Tk 6 thousand and 451 crores. In this case, the investment proposals have increased by about 622%.
The highest number of foreign investment proposals have come in the services sector. If all the proposals are implemented, it is expected that 58 thousand and 123 new people will be employed in the country.
