Prime Minister’s proposal to Nepal to use Chittagong and Mongla ports

Parliamentary delegation of Nepal paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at Ganobhaban

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has proposed Nepal use Syedpur airport as well as Mongla and Chittagong sea ports for mutual benefit. On Saturday morning (6 August), the Nepalese parliamentary delegation visiting Bangladesh paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister at Ganobhaban. At this time, she proposed to use the two seaports.

The Prime Minister said that Nepal can enjoy the benefits of using our Mongla and Chittagong ports. Pointing out that Bangladesh is developing Syedpur airport as a regional airport, Sheikh Hasina said that neighbouring countries including Nepal will be able to use the airport.

In the meeting, both sides expressed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in business and trade for mutual benefit as well as strengthening the relationship between the two countries. The Nepalese delegation was led by the Chairperson of the International Relations Committee of the Federal Parliament of Nepal, His Holiness Niruola Kharel.

Members of Parliament Chand Tara Kumari, Dr. Deepak Prakash Bhatt, Dev Prasad Timalsina, Leela Devi Sitaula, Narad Muni Rana, and Sarala Kumari Yadav were part of the Nepalese delegation.
