The Cabinet Committee has approved the proposal for appointment of berth operator at Chittagong port

The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved six separate proposals of the Chittagong Port Authority to appoint six berth operators for the next five years. The committee has approved 16 purchase proposals including this proposal. This approval was given in a virtual meeting held on Wednesday (17 August) under the chairmanship of Minister of Finance A.H.M Mustafa Kamal.

Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Abdul Barik briefed the journalists virtually after the meeting. He said that the committee approved 16 purchase proposals in the meeting. Notable among these are the three purchase proposals of TCB under the Ministry of Commerce for the purchase of oil and lentils, the proposal of the state-owned Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) to import about 1 lac and 20 thousand metric tonnes of fertiliser from four international suppliers and to appoint a berth operator at Chittagong port.
