Bangladesh government is going to launch three more land ports in order to boost trade with India. These are Ramgarh in Khagrachhari, Bilonia in Parshuram of Feni, and Gobrakura-Koroitali of Haluaghat in Mymensingh.
Infrastructure of Bilonia and Gobrakura-Koroitali is ready to function while temporary infrastructure at Ramgarh is currently underway.
Source at Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA) says, the land ports would be inaugurated after the Prime Minister returns from her India-visit. A suitable date in this regard would be sought from the Premier.
Ramgarh land port has become the focus of interests as India looks forward to using it for movement of cargo via Chattogram Port. If construction is not complete temporary sheds would facilitate export-import including immigration.
