BGMEA call to boost India-Bangladesh collaboration to open up new doors

BGMEA President Farooq Hasan laid emphasis on boosting business interactions between the garment and textile exporters Bangladesh and India that can open up new windows of trade opportunities.

He made this call during a meeting with Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor of Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) at his office on Sunday (September 4). BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Chairman of BGMEA Standing Committee on Trade Fair Mohammad Kamal Uddin and CMAI General Secretary of CMAI and Chairman of Sub-Committee of CMAI Fab Show Naveen Sainani were present at the meeting.

They discussed various issues related to the garment industry, particularly potential avenues of collaboration between Bangladesh and India to provide complementary cooperation to develop the garment industry in both countries.

Rahul Mehta, on behalf of CMAI, invited BGMEA members to participate in upcoming ‘Fabrics Accessories and Beyond- the CMAI Fab Show’ to be held in Mumbai, India on September 19-21.

Farooq Hasan hoped this trade show would bring manufacturers and exporters of both countries closer, paving the way to derive mutual trade benefits. Bangladeshi apparel exporters will be able to highlight the potential and strength of the apparel industry among the trade fair participants.
