Transit trial: Indian ship of goods arrives at Chittagong Port

MV Trans Samudera, the Indian vessel reached Chittagong port on Tuesday (September 6) 120 containers including 25 tonnes of steel bar. The ship left Kolkata Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port on Sunday (September 4).

The containers will be transported to Assam via Chittagong- Sheola (SYlhet)-Sutarkandi (India) route.

The Transit are being conducted under the ‘Agreement on the use of Chittagong and Mongla port for movement of goods to and from India’ signed between India and Bangladesh in 2018. In 2020, MV Senjuti reached Chittagong port carrying 4 containers from Kolkata. Last month, another successful trail was held via Mongla Port.
