Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Portsmouth Bangladesh Business Association of United Kingdom (UK) at the World Trade Centre on Saturday.
The MoU was signed with the aim of promoting bilateral cooperation, exchange of information, experience and support for the enhancement of commercial relations between the two regions and the cooperation of the concerned businessmen.
CCCI Senior Vice President Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, said, more than 90 per cent of our Exim trade is carried out via Chittagong Port, the principal sea port in country. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Industrial City, the largest economic zone in country is being constructed here in addition to the ‘One Town Two Cities’ around the Karnaphuli Tunnel.
Portsmouth Bangladesh Business Association Chairman Raja Ali noted that both areas share many similarities, thanks to their port facilities, and this memorandum will pave the way towards building a business relation between the businessmen of the two countries.
CCCI directors Md. Shahriar Jahan, Hasnat Md. Abu Obaida, Engineer Iftekhar Hossain, Md. Iftekhar Faisal, SM Tahsin Jonaid, Mohammad Adnanul Islam, Tanvir Mostafa Chowdhury and Mohammad Nasirul Alam (Fahim), former director Mahfuzul Haque Shah among others attended the event.
