Planning Minister M A Mannan has said that the problem of opening letters of credit or LCs in the case of commercial imports will be resolved within December.
“You are having problems opening LCs. The crisis is becoming somewhat normal. Wait another month, the problem will be solved by December, inshallah,” he said addressing the traders.
He said these at the opening ceremony of the three-day long Bangladesh Buildcon, Wood and Electrical International Exhibition for the sixth time at International Convention City, Bashundhara in the capital on Thursday.
“I had a talk with the governor of Bangladesh Bank two days ago. I am going to convey the problems I heard from you. The government is completely business-friendly. 80% of the economy is in the hands of businessmen. All the doors are kept open for you. The Prime Minister is quite sincere about it,” the minister added.
