$135 crore remittance received in 25 days of November

In the first 25 days of November this year, expatriates remitted 134 crore and 71 lakh USD in remittances.

The Bangladesh Bank recently took several measures, including promoting awareness among expatriates, to resolve the dollar crisis in the country. Despite this, expatriate income growth remains negative. This data comes from the most recent report issued by the Bangladesh Bank.

In the first two months of the current fiscal year, remittances worth more than 2 billion dollars have come in. This positive trend in remittances did not persist, though. Since then, the volume of remittances has continuously declined.

According to data from the Bangladesh Bank, five state-owned commercial banks collected 23 crore 40 lakh dollars in remittances in the first 25 days of the month in concern. And 107 crore 98 lakh dollars came through private banks, while 4 lakh dollars came through foreign banks and 2 crore 88 lakh dollars came through a specialised bank.
