FBCCI has urged retailers and wholesale traders, and mill owners, to pledge about maintaining the normal prices and supply of essential commodities during the Holy month of Ramadan. The trade body made this call during a discussion on the stock, import, supply, and price scenario of daily essential commodities held on Sunday (12 February) at the FBCCI office in Dhaka.
Presiding over the meeting, FBCCI President Md. Jashim Uddin said, traders need to be aware that no one can destabilize the market by creating artificial crises. He urged the traders to issue invoices to keep the price of products stable. He also said business should be done in a systematic way to keep the price stable and normal. The mistrust issue of the common people towards the traders should be solved, he added.
The FBCCI president thanked the farmers for producing rice, wheat, and other products and keeping the supply chain normal. Besides, he also thanked the expatriates for sending remittances to the country.Golam Mawla, president of Bangladesh Wholesale Edible Oil Traders Association assured that there will be no crisis of edible oil during the Ramadan. Mill owners, wholesalers, retailers, and other market associations also assured that there will be no shortage of sugar, pulses, gram, dates, and other products in the market during Ramadan.
