Two warships URAGA and HIRADO of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force left Chittagong port jetty on Monday (10 January) after a goodwill visit. When the two ships left Chittagong port, the band of the navy bid farewell performing music according to the tradition of the navy. Captain Masudul Karim Siddiqui, Chief Staff Officer of Chattogram Naval Zone, and representatives of the Japanese Embassy in Bangladesh, and local high-ranking naval officials were present at the occasion.
During the stay of the two ships in Bangladesh, a delegation including the Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on Commander Chattogram Naval Zone, Commander BN Fleet, Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, and Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority. It is hoped that this goodwill visit of the two ships will play an important role in further strengthening the friendly cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan. The two ships arrived in Bangladesh on 8 January on a three-day goodwill visit.
