10 locomotives have reached Chittagong port

Ten metre-gauge train engines (locomotives) made in Korea have arrived at Chittagong port. An engine was unloaded after reaching Chittagong port on 21 November evening. Prior to this, a total of 20 locomotives of 3001 to 3020 series have been added to the railway inventory. Following this, ten engines of serial 2021 to 2030 landed at Chittagong port.

For a long time, train travel was hindered because of engine scarcity. The movement of passenger trains as well as freight trains has been affected. If the Korean locomotives are added, this will solve the problem somewhat. Although the first ten locomotives were brought on 2 September 2020, the locomotives were left intact at Pahartali Railway Diesel Shop in Chattogram for about 9 months due to various complications.
