Bangladesh won the ‘Silver Award’ in the ‘Foreign Pavilion Category’ at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) -2021. At the closing ceremony of the fair on 27 November, the award was received from the Minister for Minority Affairs of India, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, in New Delhi by Dr AKM Atiqul Haque, Bangladesh High Commission Counsellor (Commerce).
Bahrain’s pavilions have won the ‘Gold Award’ in this category at the 40th meeting of the fair. Considering the participation of exhibitors and visitors, it is considered one of the largest integrated trade fairs in the world. In addition, the unique features of this fair have been developed as an iconic international event.
Six well-equipped Bangladeshi stalls showcased their products, including handicrafts, saree made of jute, and food items which received overwhelmingly positive responses from buyers. Many foreign buyers inquired about Bangladeshi jute products as they expressed a keen interest in buying goods from Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi pavilions have attracted huge crowds in this two-week-long fair. Visitors have shown great interest in Bangladeshi products like Jamdani Saree, Muslin made in Dhaka, jute products and products of Pran Group. The fair started on 14 November in the exhibition hall at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India.
