Chittagong port territory free from piracy: ReCAAP

There were no incidents of piracy on domestic and foreign cargo ships in Chittagong port from January to November. ReCAAP, an international organization working to prevent armed robbery, piracy, and theft on ships, published this information in their January-November report this year.

According to the ReCAAP report, in the 11 months of 2021, a total of 72 robberies took place. No incidents of piracy have taken place in Chittagong port territory. At the same time, there have been no incidents of piracy in South China Sea waters. There were 5 incidents of piracy in India, 11 in Indonesia, one in Malaysia, and 11 in the Philippines. Two incidents have occurred in Vietnam.
