Although many more products are exported to Europe besides readymade garments, the consumers of these products are mainly expatriate Bangladeshis. Those products are not yet well known in the mainstream market. In order to improve this situation, an initiative has been taken to form the Europe-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce which will include expatriate Bangladeshi businessmen from every country of the European Union.
This information was given by the speakers at a discussion meeting organised by FBCCI on Saturday (19 February). President of France-Bangladesh Economic Chamber Kazi Enayet Ullah was present on the occasion conducted by FBCCI Secretary-General Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque. FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin gave the welcome speech. FBCCI Vice President MA Momen delivered the closing speech. Also present were FBCCI Vice President Md. Amin Helali, Executive Director of France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rubaba Novera Sayeed, Vice President of France-Bangladesh Economic Chamber Fakhrul Akon Selim, FBCCI Advisor Manzur Ahmed, FBCCI Vice President Md. Habib Ullah Don, Director Priti Chakraborty, and Dr. Ferdousi Begum, and others.
Kazi Enayet Ullah said that the initiative of the Europe-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce is planned to be implemented by next July. Once established, it will be possible to ensure the noticeable presence of Bangladeshi products in the main European economy.
