Md. Tajul Islam, the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, said that Bangladesh is the best place to invest in South Asia and there are endless possibilities. Therefore, he called upon local and foreign investors to increase investment in this country.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar organised by the Local Government Department. This took place after he visited the Bangladesh Pavilion at the ‘Dubai Expo-2020’ in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday (23 March).
The Minister said that Bangladesh has been fully electrified. All the emergency services, including the internet, have been delivered to the village. 100 economic zones are being built. Foreign investors can easily benefit by investing in these areas. The government has taken all the ground-breaking steps to create a beneficial business environment for them.
Highlighting the economic changes that will come to the country through the implementation of mega projects including Padma Bridge, Karnaphuli Tunnel, Metrorail, Tajul Islam said Bangladesh has achieved great success in all areas including rural infrastructure development, water, and sanitation, health, education, agriculture.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Mohammad Abu Zafar was present as the special guest at the function presided over by Senior Secretary of the Local Government Department, Helaluddin Ahmed. Senior officials of the Local Government Department and its affiliated organisations and representatives of local and foreign investment organisations were present on the occasion.
