Bangladesh and the United Kingdom are keen to increase bilateral trade

Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have expressed interest in increasing trade and commerce between them. The two countries expressed this interest during a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by Rushnara Ali, Member of Parliament for the United Kingdom and Trade Envoy to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at the Bangladesh national Parliament on Wednesday (30 March) afternoon.

After the meeting, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ehsanul Karim told reporters about this. The Prime Minister sought the cooperation of the British Government in the development of railways in Bangladesh.

At the time, Rushnara Ali expressed her government’s interest in supporting the development of the private education sector in Bangladesh through joint ventures. She told the Prime Minister that many Bangladeshi universities are interested in working in a joint venture with the United Kingdom.

Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus and British High Commissioner to Dhaka Robert Dickson were present during the meeting.
