The ISPS monitoring team has come to inspect the security arrangements of Chittagong port and port-related institutions. The visit was made by the United States Coast Guard as part of a monitoring team under the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) port security program.
The team will recommend addressing any security deficiencies found during the inspection. The institute will come for a final visit next August. If any major deficiencies are identified during that inspection, they will take extra security measures.
The monitoring team visited Chittagong port on Tuesday (21 June). The team will inspect the installations of other institutions related to the port on Wednesday. At the end of the visit, the delegation will present their observations.
