Bangladesh has the second highest GDP in South Asia

In the list of 191 countries based on GDP, Bangladesh is at the 41st position with a GDP of 397 billion or 39 thousand and 700 crore dollars. And position of Bangladesh is second in South Asia. Only India is above Bangladesh in this region. The position of the neighbouring country is number six in the list with 3.3 trillion or 3 lacs and 30 thousand crore dollars.

Recently, the Canadian-based media Visual Capitalist conducted this survey based on IMF data. It said that apart from Bangladesh and India, there is no other South Asian country in the top 50 based on GDP.

The size of the world economy is primarily measured based on a value of trillions of dollars. The size of the world economy was 88 trillion dollars in 2020. In 2021, it increased to 94 trillion dollars. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the size of the world economy (global GDP) will be 104 trillion dollars in 2022.

Based on the new measures, the U.S. GDP topped the list at 25.3 trillion, a quarter of the global GDP. China is next with 19.9 trillion dollars, one-fifth of the global GDP. Japan is at number three with 4.9 trillion dollars.

Germany has the highest GDP among European countries with 4.3 trillion dollars. The UK is next with 3.4 trillion dollars. Among South American countries, Brazil is on top with 1.8 trillion dollars. The country’s position in the list is 10th. Nigeria is the largest economy among African countries with 511 billion dollars. The country is ranked 31st on the list. It is followed by Egypt at 35th with 436 billion dollars and South Africa at 36th with 426 billion dollars.

Tuvalu has the lowest GDP on the list at 66 million dollars. Tuvalu ranks 191st in the published list. Ahead of Tuvalu are Nauru, Kiribati, Palau, and the Marshall Islands.
