Consignments of liquor which arrived under false declaration were seized

2 large consignments of liquor that were released through various fraudulent methods have been seized. A vehicle carrying liquor was seized from Sonargaon in Narayanganj. Two consignments were seized in the early hours of Saturday (23 July). By forging the IP and misusing the names of two companies of Comilla and Ishwardi EPZ, the consignments were declared as machinery and bobbins and were released from two Chittagong ports.

According to Chittagong Customs House, two containers containing alcohol have been released at Chittagong port. After getting this information, several units of customs seized the two consignments from Sonargaon with the help of RAB and intelligence agencies.

By forging the IP and misusing the names of two companies of Comilla and Ishwardi EPZ, the consignments were declared as machinery and bobbins and were released from two Chittagong ports. A huge amount of revenue has been evaded by these two shipments as these goods have high duties.

Saiful Haque, Deputy Commissioner of Customs House, said that on 20 July the bill of entry was submitted to the Customs House for the release of the consignment of textured yarn weighing 19,650 kg from China under the name of Heishi Tiger Company Limited of Comilla EPZ.

On the same day, a bill of entry was submitted for the release of another shipment weighing 20,750 kg under the name of BHK Textile Limited of Ishwardi EPZ with the declaration of roving machine bobbins from China. The C&F was Zafar Ahmed of 699 KB Dubash Lane, Double Mooring, Chattogram.

After various processes, the two consignments were released. He also said that a huge amount of alcohol was found in both consignments.
