Remittance inflow 35 crore in first six days of October

Bangladesh received remittance of 35 crore 77 lac dollar (357 million) in the first 6 days of October, 2022, according to Bangladesh Bank.  

The central bank says, if the trend continues, remittance this month may reach 180 crore dollars. The remittance inflow to the country was 154 crore dollars in September, the third month of the current FY, the lowest in the previous seven months. Expatriates sent 149 crore dollars in February this year.   

According to the bank, of the total remittance, 7 crore 46 dollars came through five state-owned banks while 27 crore 60 lac dollars came through private banks.  13 lac dollars came through foreign banks while cone crore 58 lac dollars came through one of the two specialized banks.
