In a significant development, Md. Mahbubul Alam, the President of the Chittagong Chamber, has
been elected as the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(FBCCI) for the term 2023-25.
A formal announcement was made by Election Board Chairman A Matin Chowdhury during a
ceremony held at FBCCI Bhaban in Motijheel, on Wednesday. FBCCI’s current President, Jasim
Uddin, and former President Sheikh Fazle Fahim, alongside other board members including
Shamchul Alam and MN Manjurul Haque were also present there. .
Amin Helali, representing the Bangladesh Textbook Printing and Marketing Association, was named
Senior Vice President by the Election Board. Additionally, six Vice Presidents were announced, three
each from the Chamber and the Association groups. Among these, Khairul Huda Chapal, Mohammad
Anwar Sadat Sarkar, and Yashoda Jeeban Debnath were elected as Vice Presidents from the
Chamber group, while Shomi Kaiser, Rashedul Hossain Chowdhury Roni, and Munir Hossain
assumed Vice Presidential roles from the Association group.
