The US-based CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) will be involved in branding Bangladesh’s garment sector abroad. Bangladesh’s success and potential will be highlighted worldwide under the title ‘Made in Bangladesh’.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and CNNIC. Spellbound Communication, CNNIC’s local representative in Bangladesh, was present at the signing ceremony. BGMEA President Faruque Hassan and Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute Dr Zafar Uddin were present at the time including other senior BGMEA officials.
According to the agreement, CNN will broadcast how the garment sector in Bangladesh is contributing to the national development and what kind of contribution it is likely to make in the future. It will also tell the story of the rise of the garment sector. Especially, the steps taken in recent years to improve the working environment in the garment sector, for environment-friendly sustainable development and welfare of the workers will be highlighted. Competitiveness, innovative activities, diversification of clothing will also be included.
