The Chittagong Port Authority will hold a series of programs tomorrow to celebrate Independence Day and the golden jubilee of independence. Earlier today on Friday (25 March), the port authority organised a special prayer for the victims of the surprise attack by the Pakistani aggressors. The program of the day will start on 26 March by blowing horns on all the ships stationed at Chittagong port. A notification signed by the Director (Administration) on Tuesday (22 March) informed all departments about the program.
The program includes blackout outside the port’s protected area at 12:01 a.m on 25 March, hoisting the national flag on all port installations and ships, wreath-laying by the port Chairman at the memorial at the Republic Club premises, discussion meetings, and cultural programs at the Shahid Fazlur Rahman Munshi Auditorium, arranging prayers at mosques and temples, organising essay, drawing and quiz competitions with the participation of students from port run educational institutions, distribution of good food among patients at the port hospital, distribution of fruits and bouquets among ship captains at jetties, friendly football and cricket matches were held and liberation war-based films and documentaries were presented.
All the officers and employees of the port have been instructed to participate in these programs.
